Collingwood to Make Long-Awaited Return to Launceston After 8-Year Absence

Launceston’s UTAS Stadium will host a pre-season match between Collingwood and Hawthorn on Thursday, March 2.

The AFL announced its fixture for the upcoming season on Monday 31st January 2022.

Officially designated a Practice Match, entry to the Collingwood vs Hawthorn game at UTAS Stadium will be free.

Launceston Mayor Danny Gibson said the city would welcome Collingwood supporters with open arms.

“Launceston hasn’t hosted Collingwood since 2015 and it’s going to be an absolute thrill to see them taking on the Hawks at UTAS Stadium in March,” Mayor Gibson said.”

“I know Launceston will welcome Collingwood supporters from across Australia, and we hope to see plenty of Pies supporters coming over from the mainland and all across Tasmania.”

“It’s a fantastic time of year to visit Launceston and UTAS Stadium is one of the nation’s best AFL grounds.”
